   An Amazing Resource of TIPS & TRICKS for the X-T2. Its another handy bible to refer after going through the manual!

   Like his previous book, The Fujifilm X-T1: 111 X-Pert Tips, Rico Pfirstinger has created a fantastic resource for X-T2 owners in this book. It’s not a book for everyone- for a beginner who has purchased the X-T2 but has little knowledge of digital photography, this is not the book for you. Rather, this is designed for the experienced shooter who is seeking to best utilize the functionality of a new tool, who understands the fundamentals of digital capture but wants to best utilize the unique strengths of Fuji’s flagship camera.

   Pfirstinger’s first tip is both great advice and a foreshadowing of his expectations of the reader: Tip #1: RTFM (Read The Fuji Manual). Pfirstinger expects the reader to understand the X-T2’s capabilities and physical layout- his goal is toward efficient, best-utilization of the camera. The manual does a good job, for example, of explaining what Boost Mode is and how to activate it, but Pfirstinger gives advice on when and why to use it. He addresses new features, like the dual card slot, as well as well-established features that were in the X-T1.

   Because he is not writing for Fujifilm, Pfirstinger is able to address the pros and cons of third party products including lenses, speed boosters, and off-brand flash units, describing both how to use them with the X-T2 as well as evaluating the quality of the resulting images.

   The greatest value of this book is that the author saves the X-T2 owner countless hours of experimentation and analysis by providing his own first-hand knowledge and evaluation this camera’s functioning. I am especially thankful for the excellent descriptions of film simulations, varied AF-C settings, and lens adaptation- his reviews have shaped both my shooting and purchasing decisions, saving both time and money.

   This is the perfect next-read for the photographer who has read and understood the manual, a next-step to move from familiarity to mastery of the Fujifilm X-T2.

   Excellent, understandable, discussion of the special and unexpected features of an X-T2 camera. Should be subtitled “Stuff the Manual Doesn’t Tell You”. Bring the reader up to speed quickly and is a great resource.
