What I love about this book is that the chapters are short and actionable. It’s not a ton of theory but has lots of useful and easy-to-remember information, and I was able to start using the information I am learning right away. I also love the tone and how accessible landscape photography is made by the author.

    Five Stars!!

If you’ve ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered how to capture its beauty in a way that does it justice, The Night Photography Book by Erik Kuna is the guide you need in your hands. Kuna doesn’t just share techniques, he takes you by the hand and walks you step by step through the art and science of photographing the night.

From mastering planetary movement to pinpointing the best times for shooting, from photo stacking to sharpening your stars, he covers it all with clarity and practicality. His explanations of gear, accessories, and post-processing tips are refreshingly straightforward, making even complex processes approachable for both beginners and seasoned photographers.

What truly sets this book apart is Kuna’s ability to teach with real-world examples. He’s not just a master of night photography, he’s a mentor who makes you feel like you can master it too. Each chapter reflects not only his expertise but also his passion for helping others unlock their creative potential under the stars.

This book is more than a manual, it’s an invitation to step outside, set up your camera, and witness the night sky in a whole new way. As I head to Utah with camera in hand, I know I’ll be carrying not only my gear but also the lessons from Kuna’s pages.
